新たに発売が予想されるのは、登録のタイミング、そしてFace ID搭載の新iPad Proが2018年初夏の登場とされていることから、iPadの最新版となり、発売開始は3月になると見られる。
ベーシックモデルとなるiPadの現行版は、2017年から9.7インチモデルにおいて歴代最低価格となる3万7800円で販売中。しかし、一部メディアでは、次なるiPadはさらに安くなる259ドルでの販売を計画していると報じている。
